Man charged in Tioga triple murder; Suspect rented room from victim

Philadelphia police have announced an arrest after three people were found dead inside a Tioga home over the weekend.

Police have arrested Tahzay Young, 23, in the connection with the murders. Young had been renting a room from one of the victims at the time of the incident.

Investigators identified the three people found Saturday as 92-year-old Warren Harrison and his girlfriend, 60-year-old Khadijah Abdullah, as well as her brother, 57-year-old Earl Cottle.

Their bodies were found around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night at a house on the 1900 block of West Venango Street after officers responded to a burglary in process.

Harrison's daughter called police when she opened the door and saw the living room had been ransacked.

Police say Harrison and Cottle were found in the basement wrapped in blankets, with head wounds. Abdullah had been stabbed to death and wrapped in blankets on the second floor.

According to investigators, Harrison had informed Young, prior to the incident, that he was no longer welcome to stay in the home because he had not been paying his rent.

Young was taken into custody on Wednesday in Center City near 16th and Chestnut after he has allegedly used Harrison's credit card. He was arrested without incident.

Police say Young will be facing a number of charges including, murder, robbery, and theft.

Young, who has 3 prior arrests and was released from prison in July, stayed in the home for at least a single night, according to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross.
