Overbrook man critical after being shot outside own home

A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Overbrook late Wednesday night, according to police.

The incident occurred just after 11:30 p.m. when police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of 63 rd Street and Lebanon Avenue.

When police arrived on scene, they found the 31-year-old victim lying in the road unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. Responding officers rushed the victim to the hospital where he was listed in extremely critical condition after never regaining consciousness.

Investigators say they have no motive for the shooting, and say no ballistic evidence was left behind aside from the victim's hat.

Surveillance cameras were found in the area, and police are hoping they may help with their investigation.

Police say the victim lived on the block, just feet away from where he was shot.
