Police ID elderly couple found dead outside of Whitemarsh Twp. home

Officials have identified the elderly couple found dead outside a Montgomery County home on Tuesday.

Ross Woodward, 84, and Rhoda Woodward, 81, were discovered by a postal worker around 11 a.m. on the 500 block of Bethlehem Pike in Whitemarsh Township.

The cause and manner of their deaths have yet to be determined.

People who know the couple say they've lived on the block for decades. Neighbors tell FOX 29 the couple had two grown children and were committed to a local Lutheran church.

The Montgomery County detective bureau and the Whitemarsh police are conducting a joint investigation.
