Police: Man, 3 teens arrested after robbing 7-Eleven stores, crashing car into Germantown home

A man and three teenagers were arrested early Saturday morning after police say they robbed two 7-Eleven stores and crashed a getaway car into a Germantown home.

The incident began just before 6 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on the 7300 block of Pennway Street in Rhawnhurst.

A 37-year-old man and three 14-year-old boys. dressed in all black with face masks, robbed the store at gunpoint, leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The suspects fled the scene in a gold Toyota Corolla.

According to highway patrol police, another robbery had occurred just minutes before on West Champlost Avenue in Olney.

While surveying the area, police observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A pursuit ensued, which ended with the suspects crashing into a home on the unit block of East Wister Street.

"It's scary to hear it and you feel the house shake. It's scary," said Melody Dixon, who lives in the building.

The four suspects were subsequently apprehended. One firearm was recovered, and one suspect was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

"I came into the living room. I heard cops yelling 'Get down on the ground! Get down on the ground! Get down on the ground,'" explained Dixon. "They had two young guys laying on the ground. Money in the backseat, guns drawn and I wasn't sure if they were going to start shooting at them."

No other injuries were reported. This is an angoing investigation.
