Police: Man fatally shot at point-blank range inside restaurant

KENSINGTON (FOX 29) - Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect in a deadly shooting that took place in Kensington Wednesday night.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the 700 block of East Ontario Street.

Investigators say a 26-year-old man was talking on the phone in the waiting area of a Chinese takeout restaurant when he was shot at point-blank range.

The victim was shot three times, with one of the bullets going through his phone before striking him in the head.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports the incident was captured on surveillance video.

The investigation is ongoing.
