Police: Man shot in face after being robbed of $20 by 5 suspects

Philadelphia police say a man was shot in the face after being robbed of $20 in North Philadelphia Wednesday night.

According to police, the 61-year-old victim was walking along the 2800 block of North 22nd Street around 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by five men.

After taking the cash, four of the suspects fled the scene, but an armed suspect stayed behind and shot the victim.

The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Police say the incident was captured on nearby surveillance cameras and they are continuing to search for the suspects.
