Police: Mother charged after shooting 15-year-old son in Logan home

PHILADELPHIA (AP/WTXF) -- Authorities say a mother shot and wounded her teenage son inside a Logan home Sunday evening.

Shortly after 6 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of North 12th Street, where 38-year-old Rhonda Alvin allegedly shot her 15-year-old son in the leg after an argument.

Two firearms belonging to Alvin, who has a permit to carry, were recovered from the scene.

Alvin has been charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and related offenses.
