Police: Suspect sought for suspicious smoke bomb in NJ Shoprite

Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a suspicious smoke bomb device that caused a New Jersey Shoprite to evacuate Friday evening.

The incident took place around 5:45 p.m. at the Shoprite located on the 1200 block of Blackwood Clementon Road in Clementon, N.J.

After heavy smoke in the store prompted an evacuation around 5:45 p.m., Gloucester Township police located a suspicious smoke bomb device.

The Camden County Bomb Squad responded and determined the device was not an explosive.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police released photos of a possible suspect, asking for the public's help identifying the individual.

The suspect is described as a 6'-6'2" black man between 20 and 30 years old. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, brown cargo pants and a grey baseball hat with a circular logo on the front at the time of the incident.
