Triple shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 injured in Southwest Philly

Police are investigating following a triple shooting in Southwest Philadelphia that left one man dead and two others injured.

Around 2 p.m. on Sunday, officials responded to 75th Street and Elmwood Avenue. Arriving officers discovered a 23-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the neck, leg and torso.

The victim was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police later identified the victim as Tafari Lawrence, of Upper Darby, Pa.

A 21-year-old man and 24-year-old man, who were also shot, were transported to the same hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

The 21-year-old victim told officials he was shot at 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue during an attempted robbery. Police say they did not receive any reports for a robbery or gunshots at that location, and a search for evidence of a shooting yielded negative results.

No arrests have been made, and no weapon was recovered.

This is an ongoing investigation.
