Weather Authority: Thursday rain, mild temperatures aren't here to stay

Thursday will be a relatively welcome relief from the bitter cold temperatures we've seen so far this week, but rain will dampen any excitement you may have experienced.

Most of the Delaware Valley is under a Flood Watch until 6 p.m. Thursday with rain expected to fall through the day.

Expect the rain to get heavier later in the day, with strong wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour.

On the bright side, the rain isn't here to stay with Friday expected to be dry and breezy. Unfortunately, Friday will also mark the return of bitter temperatures with highs in the mid-30s.

The weekend is expected to stay dry and cold before a brief warmup early next week. FOX 29's Sue Serio is keeping an eye on a potential arctic blast that could bring even colder air to the Delaware Valley.
