NE Extension closed southbound near Quakertown after tractor-trailer overturns

QUAKERTOWN, Pa. (WTXF) - The southbound lanes of the Northeast Extension have been shut down after a crash involving a tractor-trailer Thursday afternoon.

The trailer remained upright following the crash but the vehicle overturned in the roadway blocking all lanes of traffic.

A detour is in place from Quakertown Exit #44 to Lansdale Exit #31.

Authorities have not said what led to the crash or if the snowy conditions played a role.
