Neighbors spot bear on the loose in Amity Township

Video shows a bear just hanging out in a tree in front of a home in Amity Township. Darlene Tillman couldn't believe it so she pulled out her phone and posted it live on Snapchat.

"Just shocked like I couldn't believe there was really a bear in our yard," said Tillman. She says someone saw it climb the tree at Old Airport Road and 562 and must've called police. The bear was up there for about 10 minutes.

"He was not big. He's probably like about 2 years old just a cub but he looked scared. He looked really scared and he just looked like he didn't know where he was going to go," said Tillman. She also runs a bakery attached to the side of her house and says she was baking when Amity Township Police showed up that night to warn her.

"The cops had the spotlight on the front tree and said to get in the house because there's a bear in the front tree and we were just like get out of here like no way," she said. Tillman went to a second floor bedroom across from the tree and had a perfect view of the black bear until it decided the show was over.

"He shuffled his way down and then he went down to the red light and down Old Airport," said Tillman. The police chief posted a warning to neighbors on its Facebook page. He said there will be additional police presence in the area. His message was followed by nearly 200 comments including sightings of the bear in nearby townships after it was first spotted last Friday. Tillman is now having fun with the bear which for some reason chose her place to make its public debut.

"I know the bakery. Yup. So now this weekend we are doing vanilla black "beary" cupcakes. We thought that was very fitting," said Tillman.

The Game Commission is also on the lookout. They say they still haven't caught the bear. If you see it stay away and call police.
