Police: 17-year-old shot in the head in Grays Ferry

Police are investigating a shooting that left a teen wounded in the city's Grays Ferry neighborhood.

Inside the Twin Dragon Chinese takeout, police officers could be seen watching images of Tuesday night's violence captured by store security cameras. A young male is slumped on the floor the apparent victim of the shooting while others scatter while the metal security door drops.

Neighbors say the victim is 17-year-old Nasir Livingston of nearby 26th Street. Police say it was just after 9 p.m. Tuesday when two masked men tried to enter the takeout on the 2700 block of Dickinson Street. Livingston and others pull the door shut to keep them out.

"The shooter then fires at least one shot through the glass door and strikes the victim in the head," Philadelphia," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

One young man who asked that we not show his face knows the teenage victim. He ran to the scene last night.

"I hear like three shots and I came to the Chinese store and I saw him on the floor. I saw people crying and I began to throw up and stuff," he said.

There are cameras posted outside the takeout. Investigators carrying equipment entered the takeout apparently trying to get a copy of the images.
