Police: 2-year-old boy killed, mom injured after being struck by truck

Hamilton Township, NJ (WTXF) - Police say a 2-year-old boy was killed and his 37-year-old mom is in critical condition after being struck by a truck in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Eddie Morales says his sister-in-law and her 2-year-old son were hit by a truck on the 200 block of Lynwood Avenue around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. A shoe and a sandal mark the spot of impact.

"This big truck is coming too fast at like 65, 60," Morales said. "The guy is going. He no stop. You see the truck, over there. He no stop."

The truck stopped at the end of the block. Police are not saying yet if the driver was speeding, but believe the two may have darted into the street. The speed limit is 25. A sign and radar speed signs just put up because neighbors say too many drivers are reckless there.
