Victim dies in Deptford road rage incident

Police say a 32-year-old man has died in an alleged road rage incident in Deptford, New Jersey, last week.

The Deptford Township Police Department says 32-year-old Joseph Pirri died Thursday night after being cut in the face on March 7th on Tanyard Road. Witnesses say a man got out of his Ford pick-up truck around 4 p.m. in the afternoon and slashed Pirri with a box cutter. As Pirri lay there, he described his attacker to witnesses.

Authorities are still looking for the suspect.

"It just alarmed us when we came out of the garage and hear somebody screaming, come over look across the street and see a guy bleeding," Walt Wilcox told FOX 29.

Walt Wilcox was shoveling snow near his home when he saw the commotion a few hundred feet away. He took one look at the victim and knew it was serious.

"He didn't look good. I just noticed blood all over coming from here," Wilcox explained.

It is believed the suspect was operating a white-over-tan Ford King Ranch pickup truck with a crew cab. The truck was equipped with a bed-mounted toolbox.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact GCPO Det. Warren Rivell at 609-685-7396 or Det. Rory Tipping of the Deptford PD at 856-462-1334.
