Police searching for Wildwood stabbing suspect

Wildwood Police are searching for the suspect accused of stabbing a man in his lower back.

The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 5:00 a.m. on the 100 block of East Youngs Avenue in the City of Wildwood.

When police arrived to the scene, they discovered a 26-year-old Hispanic male resident of Wildwood with a single stab wound to his lower back.

The victim was transported to Atlantic City Medical Center for treatment.

Following the incident, the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division took over the investigation. They recovered the weapon used in the stabbing and other physical and forensic evidence at the scene.

As a result, 24-year-old Christina Vazquez, a Wildwood resident and relative of the victim, has been named as the suspect in the case.

She has been charged with Aggravated Assault (2nd degree), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (4th degree), Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose (3rd degree), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2nd degree).

Prior to officials arriving on the scene, Vazquez fled and has not been apprehended.
