NJ congressional candidate: Diversity is 'a bunch of crap and un-American'

In Atlantic County, a congressional candidate is under fire after making controversial comments about diversity.

The backlash comes after Republican Seth Grossman was captured on video saying "diversity is a bunch of crap and un-American."

He also said former Lieutenant Gov. Kim Guadagno was elected because she is a woman.

The Somers Point attorney made the comments during a candidate's forum back in April, but they resurfaced after he won last week's primary for New Jersey's second district.

"I basically said that diversity is a code word or a dog whistle word for an agenda where you pick people based on what race or ethnic group, what sexual preference or what sex they are as opposed to their character, talent or how much work they do."

Grossman, who calls himself a "Kennedy Democrat," says that those who call him racist are wrong.
