Real estate broker found shot to death in Mayfair

Police say a New Jersey realtor was found shot to death in Mayfair.

SkyFOX was overhead minutes after Philadelphia realtor Orlando Martinez was found shot in the head inside a gold Honda parked outside a home with his realty sign on the front lawn.

Police say the 54-year-old real estate broker was slumped over the steering wheel in the locked car parked on the 4500 block of Oakmont Street in Mayfair. He had a gunshot wound to the jaw. He was raced to the hospital where he died. The murder happened right outside a home he listed for sale with the real estate company he works for.

"Right now, we don't have motive or a suspect. We don't have a description of the offender," Homicide Unit Captain John Ryan said.

Police say Martinez was reported missing by his family after he failed to show up at their Westville, New Jersey home overnight. Police sources say Martinez may have been showing homes to prospective buyers Tuesday and ended up on Oakmont where he was shot. There are numerous surveillance cameras on the block, including one on the home he listed for sale.

The rear window of the car was blown out by gunfire and sources say police found a shell casing and a cord inside the vehicle.

Police believe the gunman shot Martinez at least once in the head from inside the car, and say none of his belongings were taken from the scene.

Investigators say they have no suspects at the time, but robbery has been ruled out as a potential motive.

There's a $20,000 reward being offered in the case.
