Residents evacuated after Atlantic City high-rise fire

Firefighters worked in below freezing temperatures and high winds after a fire broke out at a high-rise for seniors in Atlantic City.

"I was scared to death because I didn't know where my wife was." Intense moments for Antonio Lopez who came to find firefighters working a 3-alarm fire at his complex called the Jeffries Inlet Towers in Atlantic City.

First responders evacuated dozens of residents, including the elderly and disabled-moving them to another apartment building as well as a school.

Firefighters battled bone-chilling temperatures and strong frigid winds while trying to get water onto the blaze as displaced residents figure out their next steps.

"I don't know what I'm going to do. I just pray to God that everything is going to turn out good," Lopez said.
