Severe storms, strong winds leave behind damage in Cape May County

NEW JERSEY (WTXF) Severe storms and strong winds left behind damage in Cape May County, New Jersey, Tuesday.

Witnesses said the storm rolled through Rio Grande, Cape May county just after 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

"The whole building was shaking. I could hear tree limbs falling down," Don Crist told FOX 29.

According to Atlantic City Electric, 30,000 homes in the county are currently without power.

There have been no injuries reported in any of the affected areas. Approximately one dozen homes have some type of damage from the weather conditions.

Municipal damage assessments are being gathered at the OEM Office. The most affected areas are the Lower Township part of the County; southern Middle Township and parts of Wildwood.
