Snapchat photo shows men's room missing from fast food restaurant

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) A Snapchat user sent us a photo inside a Northeast Philadelphia Taco Bell. He went to use the restroom and something was missing. There was no men's room at the fast food restaurant. But we did find a gender neutral restroom.

We sent our Brad Sattin to get some answers.

Calling it sexist-- a viewer sent us a photo, with the caption, "no men?" Inside the Taco Bell on Roosevelt Boulevard, there's a women's restroom and a gender neutral restroom. But not one, exclusively for men.

"I could see people getting confused," Ray Rivera told FOX 29.

Well, here's the rest of the story. Despite the confusion by some, Taco Bell is actually following a new ordinance that took effect this year that requires all Philadelphia restaurants, and other public places to make all single user restrooms gender neutral. No more signs that say men or women if it's a one person restroom.

And while Taco Bell is following the law, we found other restaurants on the Boulevard that still weren't, risking up to a $2,000 fine.

Those with a single toilet-- now required to be gender neutral-- but still with signs outside exclusively for men or women.

The law is aimed at reducing discrimination within the transgender community. Now it's a matter of making people and businesses aware of it.
