Thousands of runners take part in 39th Annual Broad Street Run

Thousands of runners filled the streets Sunday morning to take part in the 39th annual Broad Street Run!

The ten mile trek down Broad Street will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Race officials expected 45,000 people to take part in the run Sunday. Meanwhile thousands of volunteers will be helping the runners along the way while thousands more watch from the sidewalk to support them.

Traffic in the city will be impacted through the early parts of the morning with Broad Street closed down from North Philadelphia, all the way down to the Navy Yard.
