FOXBORO, Mass. (WTXF) - Walking through the streets of Philadelphia, you may have a hard time forgetting that the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
As of last week, if you were traveling through the state of Massachusetts, the Eagles first Super Bowl win in franchise history may not have even crossed your mind.
One Eagles fan is doing her best to make sure Patriots fans, and Massachusetts residents never forget, by placing a billboard not far from the Patriots’ home stadium in Foxboro.
The billboard shows a dog donning the same Mummer’s outfit made famous by Eagles center Jason Kelce on the day of the team’s Super Bowl Parade.
To the left of the dog is an artist’s rendering of who one might assume is Nick Foles, despite wearing the number 41, catching the Lombardi Trophy following the ‘Philly Special’ during the game.
To the right of the canine mummer is a Patriots player, likely Tom Brady, wearing number 33 as he is tackled by an Eagles player.
The final score of the game was 41-33 Eagles, in case you haven’t caught on to the pattern here.
Gina Marie, an Eagles fan currently living in Massachusetts tells FOX 29 she handled all the logistics of setting up the billboard, which reads “Go Birds” and “World Champs.” She is also running a GoFundMe that raised the $5,000 to put the billboard up, and she says anything raised over that number will go to Carson Wentz’s Audience of One Foundation.
Due to potential conflicts / a request from the billboard company, the billboard text has been changed ! It is up and running ! 🦅 #gobirds #celebrate #worldchamps @SportsRadioWIP @975TheFanatic @GinaMarie0125 pic.twitter.com/XZnZAdQK3P— SpectorArt (@Spector_Art) August 13, 2018
Travis McKeever, a friend of Gina’s, was able to capture of photo of the finished billboard in all of its glory.
