Eagles re-sign LB Bradham after full day of moves on Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The Eagles remained active throughout the day Tuesday restructuring contracts, signing veterans, and saying goodbye to fan favorites.

Tuesday, the Eagles started off the first day of the new league year with a splash with reports that the team had re-signed outside linebacker Nigel Bradham. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the deal is worth 5-years and $40 million.

Bradham was a force on an excellent Eagles defense during the team's Super Bowl run, with his strongest performance coming in a primetime game against the Carolina Panthers.

Bradham, who will turn 29 at the start of the season, took over defensive signal calling duties after middle linebacker Jordan Hicks went down with an injury.

Tuesday's move further bolsters the team's linebacking corps after the team reportedly agreed to a deal with former Broncos linebacker Corey Nelson, who is known for his work on special teams.

Many have speculated whether or not the Eagles would be able to afford to keep both Bradham and fellow linebacker Mychal Kendricks due to the team's salary cap situation. As of Tuesday morning, both remain on the roster.

Other Monday moves included the team adding more veteran depth with the reported signing of defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.

The team also freed up more cap space by restructuring right tackle Lane Johnson, and cut tight end Brent Celek, the longest-tenured professional athlete in Philadelphia, to free up even more space.

The team also said goodbye to backup tight end Trey Burton who agreed to a deal with the Chicago Bears, and defensive tackle Beau Allen, who is expected to move on after the Ngata signing.
