Iran latest: Secretary of State ⁠Marco ⁠Rubio heading to Middle East for talks with Gulf countries

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Bahrain this week as high-level peace negotiations between the United States and Iran that began on Sunday in Switzerland ended early Monday morning with the two sides coming to an agreement on de-escalating the fighting in Lebanon.

Toward the end of the session, Pakistani and Qatari mediators announced that the U.S. and Iran agreed to a "de-confliction cell" in Lebanon that will include the Lebanese government. The cell would "ensure the adherence of the termination of military operations in Lebanon."
