Crews are on the scene after a heavy Logan house fire left 12 people injured, two of them critically.

Crews are on the scene after a heavy Logan house fire left 12 people injured, two of them critically.

The fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on the 4900 block of North 12th Street.

Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel called the scene “chaotic,” noting that some of the injured jumped out of windows to safety.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports that a child is among the critically injured.

"They don't get into all the drama. I'm just trying to process like, why would somebody do this?"Quintin Alexander, the godson of a fire victim said. 

Caroline Knox has lived here for 30 plus years with five of her children two of their boyfriends and her four young grandkids. 

Neighbor Georgia Wait told FOX 29 that another neighbor caught a baby who was tossed from a window by one of the home's residents.

Witnesses reportedly told police they saw a man throw a Molotov cocktail onto the front porch. Arson dog Dona was on the scene Tuesday morning to sniff out potential accelerants.

Philadelphia's Red Paw Relief Team reports that a turtle from the home was safely evacuated. Sadly, another dog was found dead, and another is presumed dead, according to Red Paw.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
