DURANGO, Colo. (WTXF/Storyful) - A Colorado wedding photographer captured incredible photos of a couple on their big day as wildfires burned in the background.
Photographer Alexi Hubbell captured the stunning images this past Saturday in Durango, Colorado as wildfires continued to impact the state.
Hubbell shared photos of a bride and groom kissing as smoke billowed above them and was illuminated by the flames below.
The couple had been forced to change venues at the last minute due to the fire.
The bride, Sara McLaughlin, also shared the photo and thanked everyone involved with helping them change venues, as well as the firefighters working to keep everyone safe.
"The 416 fire forced us to change venues last minute [sic] and it was a little hectic," she posted, "Thank you to the firefighters working hard to keep the Durango community safe, we are so grateful," McLaughlin wrote.
Tune into Denver7 on ABC tomorrow to see some stories of the #416fire, including Sara and Michael's wedding. They will be showcasing how the fire is affecting everyone here.
Hubbell was also sure to thank the crews working to contain the fires.
"I want to give a huge thank you to the firefighters on the ground trying to contain this thing," Hubbell posted.
