Delaware police seek man who allegedly stole police cruiser

A stolen Millsboro, Delaware police vehicle has the Delaware State Police on the lookout for the suspect.

A Delaware State Trooper was patrolling the area of John J. Williams Highway and Banks Road in Millsboro Saturday, November 4 a little after 2:15 a.m. The trooper was attempting to locate the stolen police vehicle. Described as a 1998 Toyota Avalon, the trooper was able to find the vehicle while traveling along the John J. Williams Highway.

A brief pursuit of the suspect in the vehicle came to a halt at the entrance to the Holly Lake Campground. The driver jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot into the campground.
The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Daniel Berquist of Fredericksburg, Va. Berquist is facing a number of charges, including resisting arrest.
