Man critically wounded after argument turns violent outside North Philadelphia gas station

A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot following an argument outside a North Philadelphia business early Saturday morning, police said.

What we know:

Officers were called around 3:12 a.m. to the 4100 block of North Broad Street for a report of a shooting.

Police said the victim was inside an establishment when an argument began between a woman and an unknown heavyset Black man. The victim then became involved in a physical fight with the man, according to the preliminary investigation.

After they went outside, the man fired at the victim, striking him in the quadriceps, police said.

Victim taken to hospital

The victim was taken by private vehicle to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
