New baby for family of innocent gang shooting victim Gabby Carter, 8

The mother of 8-year-old Gabby Carter, killed while riding her bike across the street from her Camden home, has had a baby -- less than a week after the tragedy.

Gabby's uncle -- her mother's brother, Darryl Mack -- told Good Day Philadelphia the baby was born Tuesday night and named King Gabriel, after Gabby.

Mack said Gabby "was bright, energetic, loved to read, loved to tell stories. She was a ball of energy."

He added, the family was hoping the baby's arrival wouldn't interfere with Gabby's mother going to her funeral on Saturday.

The viewing is set for 9-11am and funeral from 11am to 1pm, both at Faith Holy Temple Church of God in Christ at 2713 River Road in Camden.

Another interesting note: Gabby's organs were donated. In fact, a family member received her liver. As her uncle put it: she was able to spread life.

Anyone with information on the gunman or incident is urged to contact call Camden County Prosecutor's Office Detective Sherman Hopkins at 856 225-8623 or Camden County Police Department Detective Michael Ross at 856-757-7420. Information can also be emailed to ccpotips@ccprosecutor.org.

The reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot 8-year-old Gabby has been increased to $76,000.
