Police: Man found dead in vacant lot in North Philly

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a vacant lot in North Philadelphia.

Around 8 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the 800 block of Huntingdon Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim, 35-year-old Kurtis Williams of Tioga, suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a 25- to 30-year-old black man with a short haircut wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans and a white, tight-fitting hooded sweatshirt.

No arrests have been made at this time.
