Police in California lent a helping hand to a bear cub in need after they found it in quite a predicament over the weekend.

Officers responded to the back yard of a home after they got a call that a bear cub had been wandering around with a plastic jug stuck on it's head.

La Verne Police Department officers tried to help pull it off the bear's head as the cub tried to climb a fence, but had no luck.

Meanwhile, Fish and Wildlife agents responded to the scene and the officers were able to hold the cub still while the wildlife agents worked to remove the jug.

They were able to free the bear, uninjured, and the cub took off into a nearby tree.
