On Aug. 10, police responded to an apartment complex after receiving a report that a 6-year-old child jumped out of a second-story window, which had a screen missing.

Stevie Thibodeaux told officers she was asleep when the incident happened and showed police childproof locks on the doors, which she said kept the child from leaving, WDTV reported, citing court documents.

Officers performed a search of Thibodeaux’s apartment and found a white plate with a food stamp card, a device used to ingest drugs and a white powder.

Authorities told WDTV that Thibodeaux admitted to using cocaine and leaving the plate in her closet.

Thibodeaux is being held in a local jail, the news outlet reported.
