A homeowner who lives at a rowhome near Temple's campus that was recently firebombed used home surveillance to help police track down a suspect who is now in custody, according to court documents.
Superintendent Tony Watlington said he would invest $1.3 million dollars to strengthen school safety. He said $750,000 would be used to expand the 8-school safe path program to 12 schools over two years, and $600,000 in grant money will be used to strengthen safety around city schools. Safe path is designed to allow students to move to and from school safely.
Delaware State Police say a suspect is dead after he led troopers on a lengthy chase that involved two carjackings and multiple shots fired. A school bus full of students was also struck by gunfire during the incident.
