Philadelphia prepares for massive summer of World Cup, America 250 events
Philadelphia health officials say they are preparing for one of the city’s biggest tourism summers ever, with hundreds of thousands of visitors expected for the World Cup, MLB All-Star Game and America 250 events. Officials say their plans include extra cooling centers near major event areas, expanded air quality alerts in multiple languages, food safety inspections and disease monitoring. The city is also preparing a mobile wastewater testing unit to help detect infectious diseases early.
