Weather Authority: Sunny Philadelphia Saturday near 56 before rain, snow chances return

Sunshine and milder temperatures are expected Saturday across the Philadelphia area, helping melt remaining snow after a frosty start in the 20s and 30s. Forecasters say highs will climb into the mid-50s, making it the best day in the seven-day outlook. Clouds increase overnight, with a quick-hitting system around sunrise Sunday bringing a brief round of light snow in a few spots — mainly north and west — while areas farther south see rain. Most locations should dry out with some afternoon sun, but cooler air keeps highs in the 40s. Looking ahead, colder temperatures settle in Monday and Tuesday. Forecasters are also watching a Tuesday morning system that could bring a coating to an inch of snow before changing to rain.
