Weather Authority: Bitter Friday leads into snowy weekend

A frigid Friday will kick off what should be a weekend full of wintry weather with even colder temps and even some snowfall expected.

Friday morning steady winds kept temperatures in the mid-to-low 20s during the morning commute. The high is only expected to reach the mid-30s.

A low-pressure system moving in from the south will be bringing the moisture and snow to our area by Saturday evening.

Snow should start falling in the Delaware Valley around 8-10 p.m. Saturday with light snow falling through the night. The snow should begin to taper off early Sunday morning, leaving behind a coating to an inch in most of the area.

Expect areas further to the south to get the most snow with the system. Parts of South Jersey and Delaware could see as much as 3 to 5 inches.
