The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) officially start car recalls after receiving complaints from consumers.

Frito-Lay is recalling select bags of Miss Vickie’s Spice Dill Pickle Potato Chips that may contain undeclared milk, posing the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction to those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk.

The recall notice was issued by the food company earlier this week and published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday.

According to the company, those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. 

They note that the product is safe to consume for anyone who does not have a dairy allergy or sensitivity to milk.

The backstory:

Frito-Lay identified the issue after being contacted by a consumer. No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date.

Frito-Lay said the products covered by this recall may have been distributed as early as January 15, 2026, to a mix of retailers including grocery, convenience, and drug stores, as well as local digital retailers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

The recalled product has a UPC number of 0 28400 761772. The product also has a "Guaranteed Fresh" date of April 21, 2026, and a 9-digit manufacturing code of 38U301414 or 48U101514.

No other Miss Vickie’s products, sizes or flavors were recalled, including bags in variety packs. 

Consumers with milk allergy should not consume product

What's next:

If consumers have an allergy or sensitivity to milk, they should not consume the product and discard it immediately.
