Police investigate deadly shooting in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are investigating a deadly shooting in North Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.

Officers responded to 20 th and Toronto Streets around 2:10 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found 38-year-old Abdel Gilliard sitting in the driver seat of a red Chevy Cruz suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Gilliard was transported to Temple University Hospital by medics and was pronounced dead a short time later.

No weapon has been recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
