Partially naked driver fatally strikes teen, hits man before crashing in West Philadelphia, police say

A driver who was naked from the waist down fatally struck a 16-year-old and hit another man before crashing into parked cars in West Philadelphia, police say. FOX 29's Steve Keeley has the details.

A Philadelphia man who police say was half-naked behind the wheel of a stolen SUV when he slammed into two pedestrians, killing one, is facing charges. 

Authorities say 27-year-old Zaire Semaj Adams was driving a Toyota Highlander reported stolen in Montgomery County when he struck a 16-year-old and 20-year-old in the crosswalk at 44th and Lancaster Wednesday night. 

According to authorities, one pedestrian was hit so hard that he was knocked out of his sneakers and dragged about 100 feet.

'I'm going to miss him': Family heartbroken after teen killed by driver in stolen SUV

James Sanders, 16, was fatally struck by a half-naked and likely impaired driver of a stolen SUV Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

The teenager, identified by police as James Sanders, was rushed to Penn-Presbyterian Hospital where he died. The 21-year-old suffered a broken ankle and was also treated at Penn-Presbyterian. 

After striking the pedestrians, Semaj Adams is accused of slamming into unoccupied parked cars. Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters immediately after the crash that Semaj Adams was half naked and believed to be impaired. 

Semaj Adams is facing several charges, including homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, and simple assault.
