Police: School van driver assaulted student, made children chase van
WILMINGTON, Del. (WTXF) - Delaware State Police have arrested and charged a 46-year-old school van driver after he was accused of assaulting a child.
Police say Jeffrey Dennison, a driver for Lake Forest School District, played "truth or dare" with the students on multiple occasions.
During one instance, Dennison is accused of pulling the van on the side of the highway as part of the game, letting one of the students out and having them run after the van. During another incident, police say Dennison pulled the van over and assaulted a 9-year-old student.
In another incident, school district officials reported surveillance video that allegedly showed Dennison making inappropriate comments to the children on the van.
Dennison has been charged with 11 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of offensive touching.
Dennison was arraigned and released on bond.
