PHILADELPHIA (WTXF/AP) A SEPTA bus driver went above and beyond to stop a would-be thief.
Charles Arterbury says he just did what he had to do.
The 28-year veteran of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority had just started his first trip of the day Monday when he saw a man knock down a woman at a bus stop and take off with her purse.
A surveillance camera showed him bolting from the bus in pursuit of the purse snatcher.
He caught and pinned the man to the ground less than a block away, and two passengers held him until police arrived.
Passengers applauded Arterbury after he returned to the bus, and the purse-snatching victim gave him a high-five.
Meanwhile, Arterbury said Friday his son is sending him "Captain America stuff."
