(WTXF/STORYFUL) - A Sikh activist and fellow at Stanford Law School has penned a Facebook post detailing the negative reaction she received from passengers and a gate attendant while attempting to access a breast pump from her bag.
According to Storyful, Valarie Kaur boarded a flight from Minneapolis to Los Angeles on December 2.
Kaur wrote in her Facebook post that when she removed a luggage tag from her on-air bag to more easily access her breast pump, a passenger behind her became startled.
That passenger then reportedly confronted her and a boarding agent approached them.
Kaur wrote, "I explained that I was a nursing mother, but she still didn't let me board with my bag…All the passengers in first class watched and I smiled weakly to show them I wasn't a terrorist."
A few minutes ago, while waiting in line to board a #Delta flight home to LA, I removed the luggage tag on my carry-on....
Kaur also reached out to Delta, and received an apology quickly.
Her post has been shared more than 200 times and has more than 1,500 likes.
