Spotify Wrapped has arrived, a day that brings much joy and gratification to music lovers around the world.
The streaming stats tell listeners what songs and artists they listened to the most in 2025, much to their delight or embarrassment. The Wrapped presentation includes other fun musical tidbits about their year’s listening history.
This year’s roundup included some new features. Here’s everything to know about the 2025 Spotify Wrapped:
Bad Bunny dethrones Taylor Swift
Big picture view:
Bad Bunny is the platform's most-streamed artist for 2025.
That means he has ended Taylor Swift's two-year reign in the top spot. His album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" was the most streamed album globally.
Previously, Bad Bunny held the title for most-streamed artist globally for three years in a row beginning in 2020.
Dig deeper:
In the U.S., the most-streamed artist list looks somewhat similar: There, Swift leads, followed by Drake, Morgan Wallen and Kendrick Lamar. Bad Bunny is in the fifth spot.
Of note:
If you’ve got kids in your life, it may be no surprise to you that the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack was the second most-streamed album globally. It was the fourth most-streamed in the U.S.
What’s new this year in Spotify Wrapped
Big picture view:
Spotify added a few new features to its Wrapped this year:
- Top Song Quiz: Guess which track soundtracked your year in an interactive quiz.
- Top Albums: A fan leaderboard to show users where they stack up in an artist’s streams.
- Listening Age: See your streaming habits and how old your music taste is compared to those in your age range.
- Wrapped Party: An interactive feature which allows users to compare their Wrapped with their friends’ data.
What they're saying:
Marc Hazan, senior vice president of marketing and partnerships at Spotify told The Associated Press his team started thinking about this year’s wrapped the day the 2024 version launched.
Notably, many people said online they were disappointed with the 2024 version and that it seemed too minimalist.
"We’ve really taken the feedback to heart — and fueled what we think is the freshest, most action-packed Wrapped experience we’ve ever done," he added.

Spotify Wrapped data
The backstory:
Spotify is the largest music streaming platform of all — making up roughly 31% of the total market share — with a reported 713 million users and 281 million subscribers in more than 180 markets. That's up from 626 million users and 246 million subscribers from this time last year, respectively.
Timeline:
To compile Wrapped, Spotify collects listening data from Jan. 1 through around mid-November.
That gives the company time to solidify finishing touches and deliver its recap to users by early December. But it also means your late November and December streaming habits won't be included, which may be why your favorite holiday songs aren't on the list, or other year-end hits.
Dig deeper:
According to Spotify, users must listen to at least 30 tracks for over 30 seconds each to get top songs. For artists, users need to listen to at least five unique artists for over 30 seconds. And for top album, users need to have listened to at least 70% of the tracks on one album.
Streaming in "offline" mode is still counted, as long as the device connects back to the internet in enough time before Wrapped’s launch.

Meanwhile:
Streaming rival Apple Music rolled out its annual "Replay" on Tuesday. And YouTube this week unveiled its new "Recap," which similarly breaks down its listeners' music habits.
Social media platforms, Google search and even dictionaries also offer their own year-end reflections.
