SWEET MOMENT: Toddler offers firefighter bottle of water
(STORYFUL) - A photo shared to Facebook on June 5 shows a very special moment between a firefighter and a young girl.
The picture features Oakland fireman Kevan Brown minding a toddler on the pavement outside of her apartment building.
According to a report, Brown was working a "bird dog" shift, which meant he was in charge of searching the premises for anybody left behind.
He spotted an empty crib in the apartment, and feared the worst -- searching the apartment for any sign of the child. He didn't find anyone, but saw the girl and her mother waiting outside when he left the unit.
"I was like cool -- she's safe. It's all good and I can take a breather," Brown said in the report.
He then volunteered to 'babysit' the toddler while her mom went up to her apartment to try and salvage what she could. This is when the child offered Brown her bottle of water, which other firefighters caught on camera.
The touching image was shared to Oakland Firefighters Local 55, with the caption "Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day."
