Temple student injured in hit and run to walk at graduation

Tonight is a very special night for a local college athlete, who just over a year ago was given a 20% chance to live after a hit and run accident.

Now after a year of therapy and rehab, Temple student Rachel Hall will walk at graduation.

A photo from this past weekend shows Rachel in her cap and gown with her lacrosse teammates.

Tonight is the first of three ceremonies in which Hall will walk, including tomorrow night's College of Liberal Arts Commencement at the Liacouras Center. Hall, a goalie for the lacrosse team, was just weeks away from graduation last year when she was hit on her bike near Temple's campus.

Since then, she has been going to therapy and rehab five days a week.

Hall's mother was on stage to accept Rachel's diploma last year, and she received a standing ovation.

Tonight, Rachel will finally reach her goal of walking at graduation.

According a post on Facebook by her mom, Rachel's next goal is to be accepted into the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Academy, where she wants to start a career helping victims of human trafficking.
