Philadelphia police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a woman they say used hairspray and a lighter to start a fire inside a store.

Police say the incident occurred back on November 20 inside a store on the 2100 block of West 65th Avenue around 10:30 a.m.

According to investigators, a customer was involved in a dispute with store employees when she pulled a can of hairspray from her pocketbook and proceeded to light it with a torch, sending a flame through an opening in the protective window.

Some items on the counter were burned as a result of the brief blaze.

The suspect has been described by police as a black female in her mid-30s to early 40s, standing 5'5" with a medium build.

Anyone with information about the suspect or incident is asked to contact police at 215.686.TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP or 773847. All tips will be confidential.
