Weather Authority: Sunny, pleasant and record warmth set for Thursday

Kathy Orr updates the FOX 29 Weather Authority seven-day forecast, including record warmth for Thursday.

Day two in the 60s and Wednesday did not disappoint. The normal high for the region is 51 degrees, while temperatures across the Delaware Valley rose to 58 in Atlantic City to 67 in Philadelphia and Reading.

FOX 29’s Kathy Orr says Thursday should see warm air rise from the south and overtake the area and climb to record, or near-record highs.

Thursday will start chilly, in the lower 40s, but will the temperatures will climb quickly, rising about 20 degrees between 7 a.m. and noon. It will be a sunny day, and a clear indication spring is on the way.

The record for March 11 is 72 degrees, set in 1977. The forecast for Thursday is sunny and 72.

Friday morning brings a few morning showers, though temperatures remain mild. A distinct cool down is in store for the region after Friday.
