3 pedestrians struck by vehicle in Southwest Philadelphia

Police say three people were struck by a vehicle in SW Philly Thursday evening. All three were taken to CHOP.

Authorities say a 6-year-old boy suffered severe head injuries after he and two other children were struck by a car Thursday afternoon in Southwest Philadelphia.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Woodland Avenue and South 69th Street.

Investigators say an 8-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl also suffered minor injuries. 

All three children were taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Police say the driver, a 44-year-old woman, was not injured. 

Investigators have not revealed the circumstances surrounding the crash.
