Area schools announce closings, delayed openings after Sunday snow
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Philadelphia public schools have joined the list of dozens of area schools that have announced delayed openings after a storm system brought snow, sleet, and rain through the evening Sunday and into the early hours of Monday.
Some area schools have announced they will be closed for the entire day.
A Winter Storm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for most of the Delaware Valley for Sunday afternoon until Monday morning.

A state of emergency was declared in New Jersey shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday in anticipation of the winter storm.
Some areas are expected to see upwards of eight inches of snow while others can anticipate two to five inches.
